Ketu in Virgo: Vedic and Western readings
Ketu in Virgo, with Rahu in Pisces, is read here through letting go of the need to perfect things. This page leads with the Jyotish view of Ketu as a shadow graha read through its sign lord, house and dasha, then notes the Western South Node. It is a reflection prompt, not a forecast.

What is Rahu and Ketu?
Ketu is the south lunar node, the point opposite Rahu, and a chhaya (shadow) graha in Jyotish. It is read through its sign lord, house, conjunctions and dasha period; the Western equivalent is the South Node.
Western / tropical
A Western astrologer would read the South Node in Virgo as a familiar skill with order, critique and fixing. Reflectively, it asks where correcting things has become a reflex. Think of someone who reorganizes a shared fridge at a friend's flat without being asked. The North Node in Pisces carries the Western growth idea, and its page covers that direction.
Vedic / sidereal
Mercury rules Virgo, so Ketu here is read as detachment from detail, analysis or health routines, or sometimes as a sudden insight that cuts through a long analysis. A person might abandon a spreadsheet halfway and still know the answer. A Jyotishi checks Mercury's condition, Ketu's house and conjunctions, and the Ketu dasha of seven years. Rahu falls in Pisces. The point is a tendency, not a promise of any particular insight.
Sign labels depend on the zodiac. Confirm that Ketu is in Virgo in the chart you are reading; if it is only Virgo tropically, read the sidereal page for its other sign as well.
A small practice
Choose one decision you have been analyzing. Write the answer that comes first, without research, and sit with it for a day before checking anything.
How to find Rahu in birth chart?
Calculate Ketu for the birth instant and label the zodiac. The table shows what changes between the two lenses; it is a reference, not your personal chart.

Activation
When is Ketu in Virgo next?
Calculated from the mean lunar node, window January 2026 to December 2028, dates in UTC. Right now Ketu is in tropical Leo and sidereal Leo.
Ketu does not occupy Virgo in either zodiac between now and the end of 2028. It moves slowly enough to stay in one sign for a year or more, so this placement belongs to people born in other periods: a shared backdrop, not a personal date.
Common questions
Why do my tropical and sidereal signs differ?
They use different zodiac reference systems. Read the label on each computed chart rather than subtracting a whole sign.
Can this placement predict what will happen to me?
No. One placement cannot establish events, timing or how other people will behave. Read it with the whole chart and your own experience.
What does activation mean here?
It is an optional chart-based timing label for reflection, not a probability of an event.

The traditional sign lord in the table agrees with Bṛhat Jātaka 1.6 and the separately transmitted BPHS chapter 4, verses 6–24.[30][31] The BPHS web transcription has editorial/OCR errors, so it is a corroborating witness, not a critical edition. Dignity labels, the sidereal offset and time-in-sign figures are standard reference values not yet tied to a ledger passage. The interpretive prose is original writing; the empty activation slot is a product requirement, not a sourced prediction.

Vedic lens
What does the Vedic lens add?
A Vedic reading of Ketu in Virgo begins with a sidereal position, not the tropical sign label on a Western chart. The interpretive topic is selectivity and detachment from familiar rewards, expressed through refining a process through observation. That is a symbolic starting point rather than a personality verdict.
In the traditional seven-graha rulership scheme, Virgo belongs to Mercury. For Ketu, this is a sign whose dispositor is Mercury. Nodal dignity differs across schools, so no exaltation or debilitation label is assigned here.
An original reflection prompt: What can you simplify without abandoning a responsibility? For timing, examine Ketu's role in the complete mahadasha–antardasha chain rather than treating this placement as a dated forecast. Other associations and practical circumstances can change the reading. We omit medical and fatalistic claims; decisions still need evidence beyond the chart.

How we calculate
Is astrology a guarantee of what will happen?
No. These calculations locate celestial bodies; astrology is a reflection and timing tradition, not evidence of guaranteed health, financial or relationship outcomes.
How are these results calculated?
Positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source astronomy library, and are checked against Swiss Ephemeris in our methodology tests. Western readings use the tropical zodiac; Vedic readings subtract the Lahiri ayanamsa. Terms are defined in the glossary.
