Zodiac signs: dates, elements and both zodiacs
There are twelve zodiac signs, each spanning 30 degrees. Tropical (Western) sign dates follow the equinoxes; sidereal (Vedic) dates run about 24 days later because they follow the stars. This index lists every sign with both date ranges, its element, its modality and its traditional ruler, with links to the full sign guides.

The twelve signs
What are the zodiac sign dates in each zodiac?
Dates are the Sun's computed sign ingresses for 2027 in UTC; they move by about a day from year to year. Sidereal dates use the Lahiri ayanamsa.

How we calculate
Is astrology a guarantee of what will happen?
No. These calculations locate celestial bodies; astrology is a reflection and timing tradition, not evidence of guaranteed health, financial or relationship outcomes.
How are these results calculated?
Positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source astronomy library, and are checked against Swiss Ephemeris in our methodology tests. Western readings use the tropical zodiac; Vedic readings subtract the Lahiri ayanamsa. Terms are defined in the glossary.
