Lilith in Sagittarius: Western and Vedic readings
Lilith in Sagittarius is read here through refusing doctrine and wanting room to roam. Lilith is a modern Western point with no classical Jyotish reading, so the tropical lens leads and the sidereal note explains what changes. Treat the interpretation as a prompt to compare with experience, not a forecast.

What does Lilith mean in astrology?
Black Moon Lilith is the lunar apogee, the point of the Moon's orbit farthest from Earth. Modern Western astrology reads it through autonomy and refused desire; classical Jyotish does not use it.
Western / tropical
Lilith in Sagittarius is often read as anger at being told what to believe. You may have walked out of a religious class, or argued with a professor about a required reading. Desire here leans toward freedom: the open road, a one way ticket, a different language. Ask yourself which rules you rejected outright, and which you still follow without checking.
Vedic / sidereal
Classical Jyotish offers no reading for this point. Its sidereal sign often slips back to Scorpio, so check which sign and house it occupies in your sidereal chart. Jupiter governs teachers and dharma in Jyotish, and the 9th house covers belief and long travel. Those are classical anchors to compare with how this theme shows up for you.
Sign labels depend on the zodiac. Confirm that Lilith is in Sagittarius in the chart you are reading; if it is only Sagittarius tropically, read the sidereal page for its other sign as well.
A small practice
Write down a belief you were raised with and a belief you hold now on the same topic. Note one thing that changed your view and when it happened.
How to find Lilith in birth chart?
Calculate Lilith for the birth instant and label the zodiac. The table shows what changes between the two lenses; it is a reference, not your personal chart.

The engine must supply the named method, natal inputs, uncertainty and date window separately for each lens. No activation date is inferred from this sign alone. The sidereal lens has no Vimshottari period for Lilith, so only a position can be reported there.
Common questions
Why do my tropical and sidereal signs differ?
They use different zodiac reference systems. Read the label on each computed chart rather than subtracting a whole sign.
Can this placement predict what will happen to me?
No. One placement cannot establish events, timing or how other people will behave. Read it with the whole chart and your own experience.
What does activation mean here?
It is an optional chart-based timing label for reflection, not a probability of an event.

Source review
The traditional sign lord in the table agrees with Bṛhat Jātaka 1.6 and the separately transmitted BPHS chapter 4, verses 6–24.[30][31] The BPHS web transcription has editorial/OCR errors, so it is a corroborating witness, not a critical edition. Dignity labels, the sidereal offset and time-in-sign figures are standard reference values not yet tied to a ledger passage. The interpretive prose is original writing; the empty activation slot is a product requirement, not a sourced prediction.

How we calculate
Is astrology a guarantee of what will happen?
No. These calculations locate celestial bodies; astrology is a reflection and timing tradition, not evidence of guaranteed health, financial or relationship outcomes.
How are these results calculated?
Positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source astronomy library, and are checked against Swiss Ephemeris in our methodology tests. Western readings use the tropical zodiac; Vedic readings subtract the Lahiri ayanamsa. Terms are defined in the glossary.
