Placement
Uranus in Scorpio: Western and Vedic readings
Uranus in Scorpio is a generational placement, read here through a generation's backdrop of exposed secrets and shifting taboos. Everyone born across several years shares it, so the house and aspects matter more for a personal reading. Classical Jyotish does not use Uranus; the sidereal note explains what still changes.

What is the difference between Western and Vedic astrology?
Uranus is a modern Western symbol for disruption, independence and sudden change. Classical Jyotish does not use it, so the two lenses differ more here than for the classical planets.
Western / tropical
Everyone born from about 1974 or 1975 to about 1981 has Uranus in Scorpio, roughly six or seven years of births. It speaks to a shared climate more than to anyone's private life. One question worth asking: which topics were hushed at your dinner table, and which ones started getting discussed openly while you were small? The house tells you where it gets personal.
Vedic / sidereal
Jyotish has no classical position on Uranus because the planet was found in 1781. If you use a sidereal chart that includes it, as some modern Vedic astrologers do, most of this cohort shows it in Libra, Venus's sign. Look at Venus and at which house Uranus lands in.
Check the zodiac label before using this page. A tropical Scorpio placement may be sidereal Libra, so each lens needs its own calculation, and no single sign settles how the rest of the chart reads.
A small practice
Name one subject your family avoided. Have a short, honest conversation about it with someone you trust this month.
How to read birth chart?
Calculate Uranus for the birth instant and label the zodiac. The table shows what changes between the two lenses; it is a reference, not your personal chart.

|---|---|
| Tropical placement | Uranus in Scorpio |
| Approximate tropical span | about 1974/75-1981 |

Activation
When is Uranus in Scorpio next?
Calculated from the apparent geocentric position, window January 2026 to December 2028, dates in UTC. Right now Uranus is in tropical Gemini and sidereal Taurus.
Uranus does not occupy Scorpio in either zodiac between now and the end of 2028. It moves slowly enough to stay in one sign for a year or more, so this placement belongs to people born in other periods: a shared backdrop, not a personal date.
The engine must supply the named method, natal inputs, uncertainty and date window separately for each lens. No activation date is inferred from this sign alone. The sidereal lens has no Vimshottari period for Uranus, so only a position can be reported there.
Common questions
Why does everyone my age share this sign?
Uranus moves slowly, so it stays in one sign for years. The personal layer comes from its house and aspects, which depend on your birth time and place.
Why do my tropical and sidereal signs differ?
They use different zodiac reference systems. Read the label on each computed chart rather than subtracting a whole sign.
What does activation mean here?
It is an optional chart-based timing label for reflection, not a probability of an event.

The traditional sign lord in the table agrees with Bṛhat Jātaka 1.6 and the separately transmitted BPHS chapter 4, verses 6–24.[30][31] The BPHS web transcription has editorial/OCR errors, so it is a corroborating witness, not a critical edition. Dignity labels, the sidereal offset and time-in-sign figures are standard reference values not yet tied to a ledger passage. The interpretive prose is original writing; the empty activation slot is a product requirement, not a sourced prediction.

How we calculate
Is astrology a guarantee of what will happen?
No. These calculations locate celestial bodies; astrology is a reflection and timing tradition, not evidence of guaranteed health, financial or relationship outcomes.
How are these results calculated?
Positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source astronomy library, and are checked against Swiss Ephemeris in our methodology tests. Western readings use the tropical zodiac; Vedic readings subtract the Lahiri ayanamsa. Terms are defined in the glossary.
