Cancer and Scorpio compatibility: a water trine

Who is Cancers soulmate?
Plenty of horoscope sites will say Scorpio. I would not. No sign is anyone's assigned soulmate, and a Cancer could find that kind of bond with an Aquarius coworker who became family. What Scorpio offers Cancer is loyalty and a shared seriousness about feelings, which is a good basis for closeness of any kind.
Where it tends to flow
Both signs read a room by mood before words. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, notices who hasn't eaten. Scorpio notices who is lying. Together they build a private world fast, with in-jokes and a strong sense of "us". Trust, once earned, tends to hold.
Where friction shows up

What does Scorpio's modern ruler change?
Modern astrologers add Pluto as Scorpio's ruler alongside the traditional Mars. It colors the reading toward intensity and privacy but does not change the trine.
