Tropical: meaning in astrology
The tropical zodiac measures signs from the March equinox, the point where the Sun crosses the celestial equator heading north. Most Western astrology uses it. It ties the signs to the seasons: tropical Aries always begins at the March equinox, Cancer at the June solstice, Libra at the September equinox and Capricorn at the December solstice.

It does not line up with the constellations of the same names, and it was never meant to.

How we calculate
Is astrology a guarantee of what will happen?
No. These calculations locate celestial bodies; astrology is a reflection and timing tradition, not evidence of guaranteed health, financial or relationship outcomes.
How are these results calculated?
Positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source astronomy library, and are checked against Swiss Ephemeris in our methodology tests. Western readings use the tropical zodiac; Vedic readings subtract the Lahiri ayanamsa. Terms are defined in the glossary.
